Seattle Human Banner Project

Spectral Q was hired by Rainforest Action Network, Global Exchange, and Public Citizen to create a series of 'Human Banners' as part of the WTO Protests in Seattle.

Labor, Environmental and Social Justice groups were opposed to the WTO as an undemocratic institution which would undermine human rights and environmental protection by favoring corporate profit above all else.

The WTO meeting ended in failure after a dramatic week of tear gas, rubber bullets, Police in riot gear and armored petrsonnel carriers.

The tens of thousands of protesters did not back down and on the final day formed the word DEMOCRACY a block long and chanted the week's refrain "This is what Democracy looks like."
